15 Weeks Old

When complaining about not getting enough sleep, don’t do it to your wife who is breastfeeding...  and up every two hours of every night.  That being said, I did NOT sleep well last night.
That is how I’m trying not to be an ass this week.
Meanwhile, I’ve gotten really good at reading Fox in Socks to Emmy.
Bim’s Broom and Ben’s broom still gets me tripped up.  Especially when we get to the big pig broom band.  But Von Bebe seems to like it and this is one book I don’t mind reading… over and over and over again.  For now, anyway.
Don’t let the pictures fool you.  We’ve had a rough couple of mornings.  We think her gums are really starting to bother her and the tools we use to calm here are getting fewer and fewer.  She’s too big for me to hold and walk around the kitchen any more.  I can’t believe how quickly she’s growing and I can’t believe how much I already miss being able to simply walk her to sleep before bed every night.  The difference between 10 and 14 pounds feels much bigger than just 4 pounds.

26 Days Old

Well, I made it to the end of my first week back at work as a father and I am Dog Tired.
Speaking of dogs, here's a picture of Von Bebe next to ours.  Well... his feet anyway.  And what this says about scale is either the baby is small, or the dog has big feet.  And since the baby was 9lbs 14oz when born, I guess the dog has big feet.
Seriously, though.  My wife and I feel like we kind of lucked out with our daughter.  She's given us lots of sleep at nights and is fairly easy to settle.  But apparently that doesn't count for much based on my desire to take naps.  I've never in my life wanted naps so bad.
Having been back at work, the weekends once again mean something and I am totally going to take advantage of this weekend and nap as much as possible.  'course, it's easy for me to say that now.  We'll see how I did on the other side of the weekend.

Week 28 Day 2

I went to bed the other night after my wife as I sometimes do.  This was one of the few instances I was able to crawl into bed without waking her.  I rested my hand on her belly and felt the little one moving.  I thought for sure she’d be awake with the baby moving so much.  So I started prodding a little bit.  I was able to actually push in a half of an inch or so and get a reaction from our child-to-be.  At this point I thought my wife was surely awake and just humoring me.  But then I realized that she hadn’t stirred, moaned or made any indication of wakefulness.
So there it is.  I totally played with the baby and didn’t even wake up my wife in the process.  ‘Course, if I HAD woken her, I can imagine the verbal berating I might have received.  So maybe I’m an ass for playing with the baby in her sleep.  Fine.  I’m an ass.
